GETTING STARTED

Signing In and Creating Your Account

Every route past the marketing pages — the Dashboard, Projects, and the diagram editor — requires a signed-in account. Sign-up and sign-in share the same form and offer three ways in: email/password, Google, or GitHub.

Email/password vs. Google/GitHub

Sign up asks for an email, a password, and a confirmation of that password. Sign in drops the confirmation field. Both pages also offer Continue with Google and Continue with GitHub as one-click alternatives — there’s no separate step to link a password-based account to one of these later.

What happens on your very first sign-in

The first time your account exists, ERD Factory creates a profile behind the scenes — defaulting you to the Free tier (see Plans and Limits) — and sends a one-time welcome email. Every project you create afterward is scoped to your account and isn’t visible to anyone else; see Projects, Collections, and Saved Schemas for how your data is organized once you’re in.

Forgot your password?

Click Forgot password? on the sign-in page after entering your email. If an account exists for that address, you’ll get a reset email linking back to ERD Factory’s own reset page — set a new password there and sign in with it going forward. The same confirmation message shows whether or not the address actually has an account, so this can’t be used to check who’s registered.

What’s not here yet

There’s no email verification step, and no in-app way to change your email or password once signed in, or to delete your account — sign-in currently covers getting in and getting back in if you forget your password, nothing more.
